Brett Favre is one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history. This celebrity blog contains the celeb gossip and celebrity rumors of him. He is on and off the field is a remarkable athlete. Brett Favre is one of the most popular athletes in America, in all sports, and his jersey is the sixth all-time bestseller in league history, according to NFL. Yes, Brett Favre is now a FORMER Green Bay Packer...what do YOU think about him being a NY Jet. Here is what I don’t get: Brett Favre is said to be the best QB in the league (he holds so many records including most TD passes) and yet the Packer Management does not want him.
Packers' handling of retirement saga leaves QB baffled and a little bitter. CONSISTENTLY ONE OF THE BEST at the top of his game throughout his career, Favre remained one of the most worthy adversaries for defensive coordinators in his final season. In 2007, he helped the Packers post the third-best single-season marks in franchise history for total net yards (5,931) and points (435) as Green Bay finished No. Favre already knew, in 2006, that the Packers couldn’t wait around for him to make a decision regarding his future,In the interview at his home in Mississippi, Favre told Mortensen he would like more time to decide whether to return for another NFL season. Favre said he’s told Packers general manager Ted Thompson that if the team doesn’t want to wait for him to commit to either playing the 2006 season or retiring, then he should be “cut loose." So to recap, the 2006 version of Brett Favre knew he had to make quick decisions regarding his future so as not to screw the Packers. This whole situation has really created a no-win situation for the Packers management, who couldn’t wait around on Favre…like they have for the last 2 years, and who will now be completely despised by some Packers fans for not bringing Favre back to Green Bay. That he may want to come back, that the Packers may not want him to come back, and that the fans he has played for for the last 16 seasons if the Packers didn’t want to bring him back. How could the Packers not take him back? Bret Favre has been the Packers since 1993 and has never given up on any play or game in all that time. How quickly people seem to forget the 70s and the 80s…and what the Packers looked like then. He has had his ups and downs in his time with the Packers.
A source very close to Brett Favre's family informed us that the trade to Tampa Bay was a done deal.
In the celeb news, the 2008 version feels he was pressured to make a decision and was forced into retirement. Why would Brett say that he was not forced to retire at his retirement news conference and then claim that he was forced out now? He was a number one pick, which was spent because Brett was talking about retirement back 3 years ago. And every time Favre flirted with retirement, it made companies less likely to want to depend on him. “I was really dreading retirement, to be honest,” Favre said in a press conference outside his Mississippi home. Farve is a jerk for changing his mind about retirement. Stay with the pack or stay in retirement Brett, don't be wishy-washy. As Brett Favre sat in front of the football world in March to announce his retirement at a teary news conference, it was the last place he wanted to be. After Brett announced his retirement in March, the Packers decided to move forward wtih Aaron Rodgers as their starting QB. At the time of his retirement in March 2008, Favre had been the Packers’ starting quarterback for 253 consecutive regular-season games, an NFL record for durability at his position. The future Hall of Fame quarterback announced his retirement back in March but has since then hinted he still wants to play, and has caused quite the celebrity scandal.
Aaron Rodgers, the Packers’ new starting quarterback, has been the most prominent story line of this game, but Tarvaris Jackson’s progress as the Vikings’ quarterback is just as important to the division race. Favre, who is still perplexed that the Packers feel fourth-year pro Aaron Rodgers gives them a better chance to win right now, said he and McCarthy had a good relationship. What’s the worst that could happen, Favre retired and in steps the backup QB, Aaron Rodgers. Current starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers also has not said much, "I'm not really going to speculate about any rumors that are out there," he said.
So while the Packers management was telling the public that they were planning to welcome Brett back and hold an open competition for starting quarterback it turns out they were privately excluding him from the team and preparing for his inevitable trade. We are receiving reports that Green Bay will, in fact, not allow Brett Favre to compete for the starting quarterback position as he had been promised by the Packers and has been widely reported by the media. Brett was returning with the intention of playing for the Packers (as in starting at quarterback), but the Packers haven’t changed their stance that Aaron Rodgers is their starting quarterback. Brett Favre will just have to go with the flow, and get used to the fact that he is now in the celeb gossip celebrity blog.
